Writers come to me with stories and need something to help readers 'get it.' With these character designs I tried to embody either the passions that drive the specific character or the lack of passion that will offset him/her against the true hero. Animation is all about contrast: when characters' emotions change, people take notice!

Some of these pieces were just done for fun, and some were done to 'get the ball rolling' (so to speak) on a given project. Sometimes artists get intimidated by a blank piece of paper, so I try to break the ice. Run something up the flagpole and see if they'll salute. At best, it sets a visual/psychological course for the project, and at worst, it gets the creative juices flowing. I hope you have as much fun looking at them as I did drawing them.
